On 21 August you will have the opportunity to choose your Prime Minister. It will be a choice between moving Australia forward under Labor, or sending us back under the Coalition.
Labor believes we must move forward through building a sustainable Australia, an Australia with a stronger economy, and an Australia with first rate health and education services.
The choice at this election is clear. Mr Abbott wants to take us back by reintroducing the worst aspects of WorkChoices. He wants to take us back by cutting Trades Training Centres and eliminating the key services families rely on like GP Super Clinics.
Enrol to vote
That’s why it is so important everybody has their opportunity to get out and vote. In order to make your choice you need to make sure you are enrolled with the Australian Electoral Commission.
The writs will be issued on Monday 19 July – that means people not currently enrolled will only have until 8.00pm Monday night to enrol.
If you aren’t enrolled to vote, don’t miss your chance. And if you are, please check to see if the Australian Electoral Commission has your proper details.

No Candidate Means No Respect |
|
With the federal election to be held in less than five weeks time on August 21st, the Liberal party is yet to announce its candidate for the electorate of Gorton.
“The Liberal Party has had endorsed candidates for months in most electorates, but has chosen to ignore Gorton. This demonstrates the contempt that the Liberal party has for the western suburbs, ” said Gorton MP Brendan O’Connor.
“Obviously Tony Abbott doesn’t think the west is important enough.”
