Tribute to Brimbank and Melton Emergency Services Crews |

Federal Member for Gorton Brendan O’Connor today paid tribute to the extraordinary efforts of local emergency services units during the weekend fires across Victoria, that have become the worst natural disaster in Australia’s history.
“Many of my constituents have family and friends who are among the dead, the injured andthe homeless as a result of the fires,” Mr O’Connor said in Parliament today.

Local Young People Urged to Take Part in Australian First |

Young people in Brimbank are being encouraged to get involved in the Federal Government’s nationwide youTHINK event to be held on 20 February in Melbourne and 9 other locations across the country.
Federal Member for Gorton Brendan O’Connor said that this event will give local young people a chance to get involved in contributing to the development of government policies that will directly affect them and their friends.

Supporting Jobs & Families & Building Infrastructure for the Future |

Every local school and thousands of local people and families will benefit from the Rudd Government’s $42 billion National Building and Jobs Plan, according to Federal Member for Gorton Brendan O’Connor.
Mr O’Connor said that the Plan, announced by the Prime Minister in Canberra yesterday, will also deliver investment in local infrastructure and support jobs in our community.
