Brimbank VET Cluster Receives Funding For New Trade Training Centre |

The The Brimbank VET Cluster of schools, led by Copperfield College, will receive up to $5.3 million from the Federal Government to develop world-class trade training opportunities for local students.
The funding was announced today and has been allocated under the second phase of the Rudd Government’s Trade Training Centres in Schools program, which aims to give young people the skills they need to be part of the workforce of the future.

Deer Park Bypass to Open in Early April |
|
Motorists in Melbourne’s west will be travelling on the Deer Park Bypass in early April, with the new freeway link on track to open more than eight months ahead of schedule.
Roads and Ports Minister Tim Pallas inspected works today with Federal Member for Gorton and Federal Minister for Employment Participation, Brendan O’Connor MP from the new bridge over the Ring Road at Sunshine West.
The $331 million Deer Park Bypass will open to the public on Sunday, 5 April 2009.

Personal Help on the Road to Recovery |
|
The Personal Helpers and Mentors program will now be available in Gorton with extra funding of $864,866 from the Australian Government, servicing the Brimbank and Melton municipalities.
Norwood Association will be providing the service, along with 38 other non-government organisations around the country selected to deliver the program to help people with a severe mental illness. They will be funded for five full-time equivalent positions.
