More Than $5.6 Million to 34 Local Schools |

Thirty-four local schools will receive more than $5.6 million in funding for minor infrastructure and refurbishment projects under Round One of the National School Pride Program, Federal Member for Gorton Brendan O’Connor said today.
“This is a massive injection of funding into our local schools and I know that students, parents and staff at these thirty-four schools will be thrilled to get it,” Mr O’Connor said.

Local Students - Tell Us What You Think About Climate Change |

Federal Member for Gorton Brendan O’Connor is encouraging local school students to enter a new national competition to tell Australia what they think about climate change.
Mr O’Connor said the Think Climate Think Change competition gives primary and secondary students an opportunity to use their creative talents to answer the question: ‘What does Climate Change mean to me?’

New Job Services Australia Sites for Gorton |

Eight job services providers will deliver the Rudd Government's new $4 billion employment services system across a number of sites in Gorton, Minister for Employment Participation and Federal Member for Gorton Brendan O'Connor said today.
Mr O'Connor said the new Job Services Australia: People, Skills, Jobs combines what were a number of separate employment services programs into a 'one-stop-shop', which will provide local job seekers with a more effective and more personalised service.
